Change Research, a national research firm that has conducted more than 3,000 polls of over 3 million people since 2017, conducted a survey in Oklahoma from March 15-18, 2024.
Oklahoma voters intensely disapprove of Ryan Walters
Oklahoma’s Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters, who is under fire for his anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric leading up to and following Nex Benedict’s death, is significantly underperforming in the eyes of Oklahoma voters after being elected to the position less than 18 months ago. A majority (55%) of voters disapprove of the job he is doing as Superintendent, including 42% who strongly disapprove, while just 28% approve. Parents and guardians of students enrolled in Oklahoma’s K-12 public schools are especially disapproving.
