San Francisco – February 2 – Change Research announced today that Nicole Bare will become President of the company and later this year will succeed co-founder Mike Greenfield as CEO. Greenfield, who has served as Change Research’s CEO since its founding in 2017, will serve as its Chair of the Board following the transition. Bare will join the company’s Board of Directors.

Bare has been with the company since 2019. She launched and led Embold Research, the company’s non-partisan unit, in early 2021. Under her leadership, Embold quickly became a large driver of the company’s growth. Bare has served in multiple roles in her two and a half years with the company, including as Project Manager and Chief of Staff. As Change Research’s Chair of the Board, Greenfield will maintain involvement in the strategic direction of the company.

“Nicole has been a great leader inside this company since her very first days, and any team she leads will combine both a creative and inspiring vision, with a tenacity to get things done,” Greenfield said. “With Nicole’s strong leadership, Change Research will grow, innovate, and help candidates and organizations make data-informed decisions in the years to come.”

Change Research is a privately held Public Benefit Corporation, incorporated in 2017. Its mission is to advance a more humane, scientific, and just world by democratizing access to high-quality, affordable public opinion research. It employs a web-based, unique polling methodology  — Dynamic Online Sampling — and since its inception has helped hundreds of Democratic candidates and progressive organizations. Its non-partisan unit, Embold, works with local and state governments, corporations, foundations, and academia. On the company’s fifth birthday, July 20th, Bare will become CEO.

“Mike has created a remarkable organization,” Bare said. “I’m proud to be part of such a groundbreaking company, and thrilled to now have the opportunity to guide its future. Change Research polls the way everyone should in the modern era, and more people recognize us each year.”

Nicole and I are also excited to share that, as of May 1, Robin Pressman will lead Embold. Robin is currently Director of Business Development with Embold, after previous experiences building a business and leading large teams. She brings an expertise in advocacy with a keen understanding of polling and data-driven programs, and we know Embold will continue to thrive under her leadership.

Since 2017, Change has conducted well over 2,000 polls and surveyed over 3 million people in all 50 states. In 2020, Change Research’s private and public polls were nearly 25 percent more accurate than other polls in battleground states. Change Research’s presidential model was more accurate than both FiveThirtyEight and The Economist. Early funders included Reid Hoffman and Higher Ground Labs.
