Position Summary
We are seeking an Account Executive who will be an integral member of our sales team driving growth and impact. You will build new relationships and growth channels, expand our client base–primarily through outbound prospecting and account-based outreach, own the full sales cycle, and be responsible for a revenue quota. Through your work, our team will work with more clients to deliver fast, scalable, and impactful insights. More companies, organizations, candidates, and causes will have access to accurate and affordable data with which they will accomplish their goals.
This role is ideal for an individual with a strong entrepreneurial drive, a scrappy approach to problem solving and getting things done, and the ability to think strategically and creatively to accomplish goals. You will own the full sales cycle from prospecting through close, with primary focus on outbound business development and relationship management.
Core Responsibilities:
- Prospect and identify leads: With your clear and compelling communication of the Change Research value proposition through various channels (email, phone, LinkedIn, other), you will conduct outreach to prospective clients to understand their needs, goals, and challenges. This includes:
- Research to identify and qualify prospects across our markets
- Building and maintaining a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities
- Researching target markets and ideal client profiles
- Build relationships: You will build trust and relationships with prospective clients, acting as a trusted advisor. You will build and maintain accurate records in our CRM to serve this goal.
- Manage the full sales cycle: You will own deals from initial contact through close, including:
- Conducting discovery and intake calls to understand client needs
- Writing proposals and project briefs that accurately scope research projects
- Pricing projects using company tools and guidance
- Coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth project handoffs
- Maintaining pipeline accuracy and forecasting in CRM
- Drive growth & business development: Cultivate and expand a strong network of qualified leads with the goals of growing our revenue pipeline and fostering relationships.
- Team collaboration: Working closely with the Head of Growth and others, you will translate your learnings based on market response to inform the sales and product teams, while being well versed in company offerings.
About you:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience, and proven success in outbound B2B sales or business development. You have demonstrated ability to build and manage your own pipeline, and you are comfortable carrying a quota and ready to surpass it. Experience in market research, public opinion data, political technology, political campaigns, advocacy, or fundraising is strongly preferred.
- Entrepreneurial, curious, and persistent: You have gumption and are comfortable with ambiguity and self direction. You are excited about the opportunity to iterate based on successes and failures. You are persistent in your work and commitment to solutions.
- Tech-Forward: Comfortable with technology tools, like CRMs and connected systems, you are eager to experiment with AI and other innovations to scale output without sacrificing rigor.
- Oriented to process: You balance speed with precision and process, able to be disciplined with a CRM and forecasting tools with moving forward multiple projects with tight timelines.
- Relationship-Oriented: You are a skilled communicator who can consult meaningfully with clients and translate to the team what you are learning.
- Pipeline Builder: You have proven experience building a sales pipeline from nothing through outbound prospecting and can point to specific examples of deals you’ve sourced and closed independently.
What Your Week Might Look Like:
- Outreach to qualified leads via various channels, including email, phone or video calls, LinkedIn, other platforms
- Consistently updating and using our CRM as the source of truth to log and report on all client outreachMeeting new potential clients as an early touchpoint and ensuring your communications are consultative and thorough, setting your team members on a positive path for the next stages in our pipeline
- Writing project proposals and briefs that accurately reflect client goals and recommended research scope
- Feeding back to the team in a concerted way about challenges you are hearing from prospects
- Collaborating with team members on research design, complex deals, and account management
Performance Metrics:
We will provide individual quota and metrics for your role once you are hired. Those will be based on:
- Revenue generated: Meeting or exceeding quarterly and annual quotas
- Pipeline development: Number and quality of qualified opportunities created
- Activity metrics: Number of proposals sent and meetings conducted with prospects
- Deal velocity: Speed from first contact to close
Compensation & Work Environment:
The base salary range is $80,000-95,000, commensurate with experience, with on-target earnings (OTE) in 2026 of $126,000-141,000. Top performers who consistently exceed quota can earn significantly more than the stated OTE. The position includes these benefits:
