Warren, Sanders, and Biden Lead the Democratic Primary Nationwide After the Second Debates
Elizabeth Warren holds a three point lead in the Democratic primary, polling at 26%. Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden tie for second place at 23%. They are followed by Pete Buttigieg (9%) and Kamala Harris (7%). Cory Booker, Beto O’Rourke, Andrew Yang, and Tulsi Gabbard follow with 2% each. All other candidates poll at 1% or less.

Compared to our pre-debate survey (conducted July 23-26, 2019), Harris’ support levels saw the biggest movement she lost 8 points after the debate, dropping from 15% to 7%. Other frontrunners Warren, Sanders, and Biden all gained support after their performance. Warren gained 4 points, moving from 22% to 26%; Sanders and Biden both gained 3 points, moving from 20% to 23%.

When selecting up to three candidates that impressed them the most during the debates, 52% of Democratic Primary voters selected Warren, followed by Sanders (34%), and Buttigieg (19%).
Voters were least impressed by Delaney (22%), Biden (19%), and de Blasio (17%).
